Eleah Brown

Eleah Brown is the Practice Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to Dr. Owens. She is a Virginia native but moved to Rhode Island and joined UOI in 2018. Eleah serves as the initial contact for most patients and works with them to ensure a positive and seamless experience.

Anita Tzovolos, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CPNP, ATC

Anita is a board certified nurse practitioner with dual certification in pediatric and family medicine. She specializes in the evaluation and management of sports related injuries. Anita works with Brett D. Owens, MD in the Division of Sports Medicine at the Kettle Point office, assisting in the clinic with all aspects of patient care. Anita graduated summa cum laude from Rhode Island College where she was captain of the gymnastics team and achieved All-American honors. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and was elected into the honor society of nursing Sigma Theta Tau International. She also holds a Master of Science in physical education and maintains certification as an athletic trainer. Anita joined University Orthopedics in 2016 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Christine Etzel

Christine is a Sports Medicine Center Research Assistant with Dr. Owens and started working at UOI in July 2019. She graduated from Brown University in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors and was inducted into the Brown chapter of Sigma Xi.  During her time at Brown, Christine competed as a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Brown Women's Soccer Team, earning Ivy League and national recognition for her athletic and academic performances. She began research with Dr. Owens as an undergraduate in 2017 and currently coordinates clinical trials and research projects with undergraduates, medical students, and physicians.
